Youth Purpose

Our Purpose is to reach students in the community, win them to Christ, focus on a relationship with Christ, and train them to go back in to the community.

What’s the Point

We believe this age group has a louder voice than most people realize. These students are not the leaders of tomorrow, they are leaders now; amongst their peers, athletic teams, social and civic groups, and in the local church. We believe if we invest in these students at a young age and teach them to be “INTENTIONAL” in their walk with Christ, then it will pour over into their dating relationships, peers, later in college, and one day in the work place and families.

Is this just something else to put on my calendar?

In the Student Ministries of HBC we believe everything should have a purpose. In everything we do, it must fit into one of the 5 functions: Evangelism, Discipleship, Fellowship, Missions, and Worship. If it does not fit, then we do not do it, if we have too much of one thing, then we may put one off to focus on another. So, can you have too much Discipleship, or have too many Mission Trips, yes if you are not having a healthy balance of the other functions. So the answer is “NO”, we believe if we take the time to look into an event, prepare for it, and decide to do it, then “NO”, the Student Ministries at HBC will not be just something else on your calendar!
